Stay away from Budget Inn Express! The $30 is well worth the money to avoid that catastrophic headache (even though the price will be the same in the end with his added fees)

He checked us in, clearly showing his frustration with the boy. His wife very kindly spoke with us about our trip, and whished us a great stay. As expected we were disapointed with the quality of the room, which felt old dingy and dim-lit.

He became infuriated, raising his voice loudly and using many unkind words IN FRONT OF OUR 9-YEAR-OLD. I turned to the young boy asking for a refund. The owner cut him off saying that he will check us out, and that he hasnt charged our card yet so we need to just leave. This didnt make sense, because they swiped my card when checking in. I said that I need a receipt showing that I will not be charged, and he said THERE IS NO REASON I NEED A RECEIPT?!? I, almost laughing at this point, refused to leave without one. The young boy, looking terrified as he did, wrote me out a refund receipt. This whole time, the owners wife was silent, and looked very dissapointed in him. She quietly apologized for what happened as we left, and looked as if she felt terrible.

We went accross the street to Best western, and for $85 stayed in a MUCH NICER room, with a very nice pool, great breakfast, kind staff, AND a free rollout bed! I was glad to pay more to another company!

At the restraunt inside the best western, locals explained that it is a very common "scam" that the hotel owner does, baiting customers in with a low fictisious price, only to add as many fees as he can get away with once you get there.

It's a cheap hotel, you can't expect much.

As I expected, my card WAS charged and so far I have not recieved a refund. Ive called my bank who will gladly reverse the charge.

When we arived, the hotel had a run-down feel to it. The parking lot was empty, which concerned us considering the other hotels all seemed full. The pool was a milky color, which upset our 9-year-old. The "continental breakfast" room was part of the lobby and had one small table that felt squeezed into the room. We considered trying somewhere else at this point.

But with that said. Rooms are nice. Service is good. That's all you really need.

Upon checking in, the owner told us that the rate was $64. I explained that my wife was quoted $54. He argued that it was not the rate. The boy spoke up explaining that he did indeed give us that price. He scolded the boy rudely, and said that "if he quoted that price, I guess I have to honor it." He then went on to tell us that they charge a $12 fee for each person, and that it would be $78 for the room. I refussed to pay, saying that we made it clear that we needed a TWO BED ROOM WITH A ROLL AWAY BED, and that we were quoted $54 our needs. He very angerly replied "fine that'll be $57 after taxes", which was fine.

I live in this town but occasionally I will rent a room here just escape my home and relax in the hot tub. Its the best most affordable place in town that's still good quality.

I then went upstairs to ask for our roll-away. He with a huge smile said "that'll be $20!". I laughed, and waited for his expression to change and him to head to grab one. It didnt. I asked if it was a joke, and he said that nothing in this world was free, this is buisness. I explained that I made it very clear to him AND his employee that we needed the roll-away, and the price that was given to me was $54, NOT $74. I repeated that for $75 I could be at any of the other hotels in the area, that were not 2-star. I said that if he was not willing to rent the room to me for what we agreed, that I would like a refund and to take my buisness elseware.

We we're staying here overnight as part of a vacation. Everything was as expected although we didn't require too much.

THE OWNER IS EXTREMELY RUDE, HAS A TEMPER, AND CONTINUED TO MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO TAKE US FOR EVERY PENNY HE COULD.

For the LOW price we paid. Everything was clean and well maintained. The pool room had beautiful wood all around and the pool was a nice size. The hot tub was a great way to warm up after a football game. The people here were very sweet and sociable!!! We will be back

We called six hours ahead, speaking to a young boy. We explained that we were looking for a room with two queen beds, and asked about a pull out bed for a child. He let us know that they would gladly supply us with a rollaway bed, and that the rate would be $54. We attemted to reserve the room and pay over the phone. He explained that there was 38 rooms available and we did not need to pay ahead. He avoided taking payment saying we will set a room aside for you.
